Dried Flower Bowl Candle 15 oz | Made for a Candle Warmer
A wide, shallow bowl of wax, poured by hand in small batches in my kitchen in Kitchener. Each scent is topped with what suits it — pressed flowers and ferns, dried orange slices and cinnamon, star anise, or baby's breath — and finished with jute twine and a tag.
I made this to be warmed, not lit. On a lamp wax melter or a candle warmer there is no flame, no smoke and no soot, and it lasts about 300 hours instead of about 90. The middle melts first and the edges stay firm — that is normal on a warmer, and it is why the dried flowers keep their shape. It is a candle, but almost nobody lights it, and that is the point.
No two are the same. That is not a flaw — that is what makes yours yours. The flowers sit differently every time, and the bowl may be clear glass with a burlap collar, white ceramic, or soft grey ceramic. The photograph for each scent shows the batch it came from.
Who it is for
A housewarming. A birthday. A thank you to a teacher, a nurse, a neighbour. A hostess who said bring nothing. A new mother. Someone who is grieving and does not want words. Or no reason at all.
It comes in a Wické gift box, so it is ready to hand over as it is — which makes it work for the gift you remembered this morning as well as the one you planned for months.

- Take everything off the top first. Untie the twine, then lift off the dried flowers, the fruit, the spices and the tag. Every one of them comes away. On a warmer, set them beside the candle if you like the look — in melted wax they sink, soak and darken.
- Nothing stays in the wax when there is a flame — not a flower, not a stem, not a piece of bark or peel. They are there to be looked at, not burned.
- Trim the wicks to about 3 mm before every burn. Wooden wicks: snap the blackened tip off with your fingers.
- First burn 2 to 3 hours, until the melted wax reaches the edge. This is what keeps it from tunnelling. Never more than 4 hours at a time, and let it cool fully before relighting.
- Stop burning when about 1 cm of wax is left.
- Never leave a burning candle — or a warmer that is switched on — unattended. Keep away from children, pets, curtains and drafts. Use a level, heat-resistant surface, and never move it while it is hot: the bowl gets hot too.
A printed care card comes with every bowl, so all of this is in the box.
