The middle melts first and the edges stay firm — that is normal on a warmer, and it is why the dried flowers keep their shape. It is a candle, but almost nobody lights it, and that is the point.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNo two are the same. That is not a flaw — that is what makes yours yours.\u003c\/strong\u003e The flowers sit differently every time, and the bowl may be clear glass with a burlap collar, white ceramic, or soft grey ceramic. The photograph for each scent shows the batch it came from.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWho it is for\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA housewarming. A birthday. A thank you to a teacher, a nurse, a neighbour. A hostess who said bring nothing. A new mother. Someone who is grieving and does not want words. Every one of them comes away. On a warmer, set them beside the candle if you like the look — in melted wax they sink, soak and darken.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eNothing stays in the wax when there is a flame\u003c\/strong\u003e — not a flower, not a stem, not a piece of bark or peel. They are there to be looked at, not burned.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eTrim the wicks\u003c\/strong\u003e to about 3 mm before every burn. Wooden wicks: snap the blackened tip off with your fingers.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eFirst burn 2 to 3 hours\u003c\/strong\u003e, until the melted wax reaches the edge. This is what keeps it from tunnelling. Never more than 4 hours at a time, and let it cool fully before relighting.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eStop burning\u003c\/strong\u003e when about 1 cm of wax is left.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eNever leave a burning candle — or a warmer that is switched on — unattended.\u003c\/strong\u003e Keep away from children, pets, curtains and drafts.
